• Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent, and interactions within the app.
• Log data: server logs, error reports, and performance data.

Anonymous message sender data

When someone sends an anonymous ping, we collect limited technical data about the sender (such as IP address, device fingerprint, and timestamp). This data is stored securely and is not displayed to the recipient but may be used for safety and legal compliance purposes.

2 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your PingXO account.
• Deliver anonymous messages to your inbox.
• Personalise your experience and show relevant prompts.
• Detect and prevent abuse, spam, harassment, and safety violations.
• Improve our platform through analytics and research.
• Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3 Anonymous Messaging

PingXO is built on the principle of anonymous expression. Recipients cannot see who sent them a message through the normal app experience.

By sending a message on PingXO, you acknowledge that your anonymity may be lifted in the circumstances described above.

4 Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g. cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics). These providers are bound by data processing agreements.
• Google if you use Google OAuth for sign-in, subject to Google's own Privacy Policy.
• Law enforcement or courts when legally required or when necessary to protect safety.
• Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice to you.

5 Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Anonymous sender metadata is retained for up to 90 days for safety and legal purposes, after which it is deleted unless a legal hold applies.

When you delete your account, your profile, messages, and associated data are removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6 Your Rights & Controls

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
• Data portability (receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format).
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

7 Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the app is used. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.

8 Children's Privacy

PingXO is intended for users aged 13 and above (or the applicable minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9 Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you via the app or email for significant changes. Continued use of PingXO after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
